Tongues are wagging, hearts are fluttering, and prostates are tingling nationwide: GAY’S ANATOMY—the cult hit web series about three young urologists who work hard, play harder, and touch your privates for are living—is back for a second season.  Episodes 1 will be released February 16, 2012. New episodes will be released every other week.

What, you didn’t know there was a first season? Catch up on all six episodes here, and learn what Dr. Jim Gable does to relieve stress when he’s nervous (answer: “give colonoscopies to the homeless!”), why Dr. Marc Merriman is lovesick over a man who looks “like Priscilla Lopez, but less butch,” and how Dr. Mark Weston gets through his long workday by “using cocaine responsibly.” There was bed-hopping, hospital drama, and more homoerotic sexual tension than a USA Network buddy comedy.

And what’s in store for Mark (Wil Petre), Marc (B. Hodgson), and Jim (Max Jenkins) this season? As residency year two begins, the boys will continue to burn through cartons of latex gloves and barrels of high grade lubricant. They’ll also meet new faces and reignite some surprising old flames (Beth Hoyt, of Comedy Central’s The Reggie Watts Show, returns as party girl/radiologist Robin Starr, and Jim deProphetis is back as stalker-with-a-heart-of-gold Eddie). Plus, there’s romance in the air (or is it stray anesthesia fumes?) when a sexy new chief resident, Dr. Brad (Joe Curnutte, of Off-Broadway’s Unnatural Acts), comes on the scene.

Written, Directed and Produced by Karina Mangu-Ward and B. Hodgson, GAY’S ANATOMY began as a small experiment to be shared among friends, but has developed a cult following since the premiere of its first season. The show has been highlighted on LGBT culture sites from AfterElton.com to Queerty, and was hailed as a “hidden gem. . . . [with] a hilarious cast, sharp one-liners, and an intriguingly flexible approach to gender and sexuality” by NewTeeVee.com. Critics lauded the “great new series” (somelikeitscott.com) as “a hilarious queer comedy” (TheDeepDish) in which “the humor is sharp, the characters vivid and cartoony, and the plotlines quite creative.” (TeleVisual).

It’s residency year two and the boys are dealing with new faces, old flames, and fierce competition. This season, three young urologists go deeper, probe harder, and aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty.

They’ve got a night off from work, and the Urology Department’s self-proclaimed “Social Secretary” is throwing a house party. Jim offers a surprising take on what he witnessed on Evaluation Day, while Marc M. looks for a way to tell Mark W. about something that’s been irritating him. Meanwhile, Eddie pines, Amy snipes, and Casey makes a scene.

Tensions flare, tears are shed, and somebody finally comes clean about what they’ve been hiding…

Waiting for their meetings with the Chief, the urology residents stress about being judged in such a cutthroat environment. Mark W. reveals his strategy for success, while Marc M. and Jim start to sense just how much they’re competing for. Plus, fellow residents Amy and Eddie each see an opportunity and grab it.

Oh yeah, and somebody’s been hiding something pretty huge…

After a grueling first week, it’s the boys’ night off. Jim decides to throw a dinner party, and Marc M. is surprised to learn that his night with Mark W. has become a group affair. Casey tries to be a supportive pal, but ends up with her hands full elsewhere.

Plus, party girl Robin is back… but who does she have her eye on now?

Oh, and about last night… Mark W. has a confession to make.

Marc M. wonders if Mark W. remembers the first time they met… and learns something unexpected about his new colleague.  Jim falls for a surprising hottie in the bathroom line. We also meet Casey, Marc’s lesbian roommate.

Oh, and somebody gets lucky.

Set in New York City, this quirky hospital comedy follows three recently graduated med students entering Columbia Presbyterians competitive urology program. In the six episodes of Season One, the boys and their crazy collection of colleagues, friends, and bedmates encounter new orifices, debate the relative merits of surgical lubricants, and dive deep into the world of urology.
